Guest Spots and Stuff

Ok, so as the title suggests, we have some guest spots happening soon!

Mitch Love (from Westside Tattoo in Brisbane) will be tattooing here from the 21st of December, until the 3rd of January. Before anyone asks, Malika will not be tattooing, she will just be here on holiday to visit family. So hit Mitch up pretty quick because he is booking up fast! His email addy is xconvictionstilldeathx@hotmail.com

Here's some of Mitch's work:

Aaron Bond (from Westside Tattoo as well) will be here from the 21st December till the 20th of January. So he will be working when Jamie and Simone are away. Here is a sneaky peak at some of Aaron's work but he is happy to tattoo pretty much any style.

Check out both Mitch and Aaron's work at http://www.westsidetattoo.com.au/ It's a great opportunity to get tattooed by some awesome artists from one of the most respected Tattoo Shops in Oz, so get on it!

Our mate Ben Grover is a New Zealander who is now based in Sydney and he will be with us from 30th of Jan, till the 3rd of February. Check his work out on facebook- http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002657572462 But here is a few bits and bobs:

Aaaaaand now some pics of what our guys have been up to:

Matt has had a massive week this week, few things finished and a lot of new stuff started:
Finished this Black and Grey Dragon on Adam. Started a while back so it's good to have it finally finished.
And Matt's first Fudo Myoo, not his first dragon though :P
Finished Amanda's owl
So one side is finished on this one. Other side is getting finished in couple weeks.

And Matty started this one today. Still some work to go into the top of the arm but that will have to be for next time.
And here is what Simo has been up to:

And Mango (aka Jamie):

Think that's it this week. Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!

I really don't know what to blog about this week, so can I just cheat and chuck a bunch of photo's in here and hope that still counts as a "blog entry"? I really don't have a bad attitude to blogging, I just really don't have much to say this week (wow, never thought I would say that about myself). So without further adooooooo! Here is some pics of stuff the kids have been up to:

Matty's Work:
Matt started the outline on Tara's back piece. Lots of lines so well done Tara for sitting through the whole outline in one sitting.
And another big outline started last week.
Bill Murray. Matt doesn't do that many portraits these days but loves doing them if it's a rad idea and who doesn't love Bill Murray?
What Simo's been up to:
Zombie girl head on our mate Mandi

Mango's work this week:

But I do need to do a plug for our mates Mitch and Aaron from Westside Tattoo (Brisbane). They are both doing a guest spot in late December/January. Mitch will be here from 18th Dec till 3rd of Jan and Aaron's dates are still to be confirmed. But if you want to get some sweet tatties off them, that's your chance. I will give a bit more info later but I know Mitch's spots are filling up fast, so better get on it! Check our their work at http://www.westsidetattoo.com.au/

In saying that, I should also mention Jamie and Simone are taking 6 weeks off, from December 24th to the 4th of February. So if you have any ongoing work that you wanted finished by Summer, better get on it! We will have guests artists to take over while they are gone, so don't fret, we will still be taking bookings over that period.

So the shop will be open over the Christmas and New Year period (except the usual weekends and public holidays). Matt and I are taking a short trip to Japan to get tattooed from December 18th to December 27th, other than that we will be business as usual as well.

Matt worked on a new print on Sunday. Using the snake from the banner he did. He decided he didn't like that one and wants to redo it. So he recycled the snake from that, for a print on it's own.
New Stickers (they look more gold in real life)

Well seems like I had more to say than I thought, haha, can't help myself.

That's all.

Last couple days of our RNLI offer!

So far we've raised £100 for The RNLI, enough for a first aid kit bag! A few more Tattoos and it'll be enough for a safety helmet. Please help out a charity that saves lives and get a tattoo done before the end of friday! And please share this with your friends!

Lifeboat Tattoos

Until October 15 I'm going to be doing some small tattoos for RNLI, they cost £25 and £20 will go towards the charity. So come get a nautical tattoo and help a good cause at the same time!

We've been pretty busy recently working on a lot of big pieces. Here are a couple of photos of the smaller stuff we've been doing.

Joe

Had a nice traditional pocket watch to do yesterday.

Chris got this tattooed horse head for his birthday and we're going to be adding a couple more horses and some roses to make a whole side piece. The lucky guy's in for a lot of fun with this one.

Stuff

Well what a busy few weeks we have been having at the shop! I have been so busy catching up on things and just trying to juggle the everyday stuff too, so it's been hectic to say the least. I am not complaining though, being busy is a good thing!

And I just want to plug again that Matt is working the Auckland Convention (I know, I have already plugged a million times). So it's 26th and 27th of November. We will only be away from the shop for 5 days, so just a very quick trip to do the convention and then home again.

In tattooing news, Matt finished some stuff this week, yay! I only got iphone photo's, so proper shots still to come but you get the idea.
Anchor and some hibiscus
A Dragon
Another Dragon
On Friday I felt inspired to take photo's of the kids working (I think I was just procrastinating over stuff I SHOULD really be doing).
Mango (Jamie) and my glass of vino (it was Friday night ok)?
Simo
Matty D
Also, if you get bored of waiting for stuff (stuff meaning tattoos) to be posted on this blog, we do often upload such pics on instagram. People with iphones need to get on it. Instagram is the new facebook after all!! Look us up under @mattdeverson, @samdeverson or red_cat_whirlwind (for Simone). The guys are often posting their work on there. So if you want to keep updated you can, you don't have to wait for my lazy ass to post a blog every 6 weeks :D

Matt also spent Monday drawing up a new design for convention banner and our business cards. I posted the line drawing because he didn't end up liking the colours he put into the finished one. So when he does it again we will post it in colour.

And this is what Jamie has been up to this week

And here is what Simo has been up to:

I am really scattered today, really not in the right frame of mind to be blogging. Just ignore the extra grammatical errors but anyone who reads this is used to that by now. It's just particularly bad today. ...Now I am rambling. So goodnight.
