Better late then never eh?

Oops, I have been a little slack with the blog, oh well better late than never eh? It's not that nothing has been happening, in fact I think it is more due to the fact that a lot has been happening.

This week we had Malika and Mitch here, doing a week or so work with us. Was lovely to have them here and we had little Mayer hang out at the shop too. If anyone could ever talk me and Matt into having children it would be little Mayer Love, what a cutie. I was hoping they would leave him behind but unfortunately not.

These guys will be returning sometime again soon. I will have their portfolio's at some point, so if your ever keen to get tattooed from them let us know. Malika is the script and portrait master and Mitch does a lot of that old school jazz.

So needless to say the shop has been pretty busy, hence my absence from the blog (that's what I am going with anyway).

Enough talking, pictures!

Malika did a lovely job of Simo's other footsy. I couldn't get  this damn photo bigger, sorry.

Here he is, I really hope he isn't as scared as he looks.

Mitch tattooed Jamie's hand. A sweet tudor rose.

Ps this pic is taken by Nick Lawrence

And here is that sweet tudor rose.

Matt finished some tattoo's this week too! Brad's Koi is finished. I will need better pics when it's healed.

And a humming bird

A swallow

And this epic venture was started last week on our very good client Big Jase. Tibetan Skulls galore with a massive snake. This thing is going to take years to finish, so I thought why not post the drawing and the beginning of the outline.

They just started with the outline of the top half.

I am more about the pictures today. No one wants to hear me crap on anyways. Does anyone even read this thing?? I often wonder, as I never get anyone commenting? As far as I know I am talking to no one, haha?

Ok that's it, peace out

Oh and Matt want's input this week "Everyone should go check out the new Cave In album, White Silence"

New stuff

Started some big pieces recently so I'll get some in progress pictures up soon, but really looking forward to finishing them off.
Had an interesting print to replicate of an all seeing eye come in last week. Good fun to do and really liked the finished effect on skin.

Piece of Boog flash, we just got some chicano flash in so it was good to lay one of them down.

Finally finished Niran's half sleeve and really happy with the way it turned out. Took a lot of work but was worth it all in the end.

And my good friend Tasty came in to get a spitfire done, hoping he'll be brave enough to come back and add some background to it to really finish it off.

Also I've been working with Never Falter Clothing on a new shirt design. They'll be at Ghostfest in Leeds this year and a couple of other events, so if you're attending go say hi and get a shirt! I'll have pictures of it up soon.

Untitled (cos I got nothin)

I am not really in the mood to blog.. I know what a great start to the blog eh? I have been a bit anti this week but my attitude is improving. New week resolution, to have a more positive attitude, promise! But I am not boring people with my hormonal issues here...

So what have we been doing? Watching a hell of a lot of horror and zombie movies!! YEAH! Last weekend was Zombie movie marathon. Best Zombie movie for the weekend was a Norwegian film called "Dead Snow", which is about a bunch of Nazi zombies running around mountains eating people, was pretty good actually. Another good one was Rec, which is a Spanish film and what they based the movie Quarantine from. Sorry but the Spanish one was so, so much better. I loved it! Although I think I need to lay off this genre for a little while. As much as I love being scared, my sleeping has been a little off. I think I have dreamt about zombies all week, which I do love but I need to lay off for a little while me thinks.

Anyways, I am rambling and I am done typing. So I might just chuck a bunch of tattoo photos in to try and keep y'all interested a little... I apologise for the fucking terrible photo's but your all used to it by now.

Here is an update of Amanda's peacock. Maybe finished next session in a few weeks.

Paul got the outline of this sleeve, which is Raijin (God of Lightening) riding a dragon. He is also beating his drum with a severed arm (but can't see it in this pic).

I know, don't even talk to me about the quality of these pics but it's a finished leg sleeve, I wanna post! Tony had his leg finished a month or so ago and Matt has started on his arm now. So I grabbed some shots before he could leave the other day.

An update on Gavin's Samurai back piece. Matt didn't do the tribal stuff and this piece does go down past his butt too. But this is where it is at so far.

Shea got some shading on his Phoenix, I should have taken a photo of underneath but the shading is looking pretty brutal, can't wait to see the colour against it.

Ok, I am going to go watch Rec II now, looks like another average night's sleep. Oh well.

More stuff going on..

Thank God it's Friday. I have had a shit of a week, not really sure why, it was just been shit? Maybe it's the diet I am on? I resent diets so much but I need to be on one, trust me, things aren't good after the Easter blow out.

One good thing about this week was scoring myself another tattoo! Woop, all the hassling is starting to pay off. ...

I got a little gramophone, Matt and I found a real old one when we were antique shopping recently, so I thought it would make a cute finger tattoo.

Amy hassled Matt for one too, she got a hot air balloon.

And here is a first mock up of the new hoodie design. So this skull/roses/snake design Matt has drawn up and  it will be going on the back (really big) and we have this crayola inspired box going on the front pocket (minus phone number and various other things. This is actually a mock up of an add we are putting in Tattoo's Downunder). So a few things need to be changed to make it appropriate for the hoodie- but you get the idea. The skull design also is just a rough, a few things we will change with the colours but again, it's just to give you an idea of what it will look like. It will be going on a black hoodie (of course)! Hope you like :) I must mention Matt cannot take credit for the roses on this one. The roses are actually the tattoo Matt got from our handsome friend Uncle Allan last November. So thanks to Allan for being cool with us using Matt's tattoo in this design: http://www.uncleallan.com/

And a finished tattoo! YAY! Robbie had his sleeve started way back when, so it's great to have it finally finished. Also I want to plug the next wrestling event, starring our mate Robbie Heart! Should be a great night so come along! I will be with the guy who is screaming profanities until he his hoarse in the throat (AKA Matthew Trent Deverson).

Here is Robbie's finished Tattoo:

Bye for now :D

We're Back!

This week we are back to business as usual. Can't believe how fast Easter and our week off went. We had an awesome time just relaxing, catching up with peeps and doing stuff around the house. It was nice just to be at home.

Saturday night was awesome, we had our best mate Dave's 30th birthday (Happy birthday for Sunday Dave, we love you!) down in Victor Harbor (and my old stomping ground). We didn't plan on spending the night but someone had a few too much to drink and couldn't drive us home (meeeeeeeee!). It was lovely to catch up with the Liston clan, I am their adopted daughter after all. So the night was spent eating/drinking lots, catching up with friends and a bonfire in the paddock. I love the country.

I am loving myself sick in my 90's outfit. Not really but I do love my new kitten singlet.

And for some tattoo's.....

Here is a progress shot of a phoenix on Susan. It does go across her back too but there is only outline there right now, so thought I would just post the coloured in bit.

Here is some Peoni's Matt freehanded on our mate Nicole.  A finished one!

Someone else had a good time Saturday night

And some exciting news, I am going to Turkey! 3 weeks walking around in June, I am so excited. I need to get fit before then though. SWEEEEEEET!

That's all for now :)

State Of The Art Tattoo Convention

This year we will be working at the State Of The Art Tattoo Convention in Derby. It falls on the 16th and 17th July and has a great selection of artists attending. For all the details visit the site here.

Managed to finish Niran's dragon half sleeve and really happy with the result, it's mostly healed in the photo, just a couple of little details and a small section of the body is fresh.

And Matt came in today so I got a picture of his healed samurai and it all looks good.

One Word- "Ouch"!

So we are really enjoying our week off, although I feel like it is going way too quickly. We have been doing stuff around the house (we wouldn't normally have time to do), eating out a lot and just taking it easy. It's been really nice to spend some time at home, God knows we don't get to do that very often.

Yesterday I managed to talk Matt into tattooing me (so he almost had a week off). We were going to tattoo my head (yes, my head), since it is shaved at the moment I thought it might be a good opportunity? However, I couldn't think of anything to get there, so we decided on doing my palm instead. Ever since Matt had his done I have envied them, so I have pretty much annoyed him about getting them done ever since. I wanted a cuckoo clock originally but it just wasn't going to work for this. Matt came up with a cool lantern and I loved it. So cuckoo will have to go somewhere else instead, I am sure I will come up with some other crazy idea for where to put it.

So here is some pics of my day today.

Literally minutes after, so excuse the ink, I had trouble rubbing it off.

And just about finished in this shot. Matt still had some lines he wanted to do but I told him to fuck off (literally- sorry love) and that he and I were done for the day! I have never tapped out before but I swear it was the most horrible feeling in the world and I nearly did. It is finished though, matt just wanted to "retouch stuff", but there was no way I was doing any more today. I just hope I forget about the pain by the time I do the other one.

So fingers crossed it stays in!! I don't want to have gone through that for nothing, nor do I really want to go through any touch ups.

Oh and I just have to put a shout out for our mate Malika, who is doing a guest spot again from around May 12th. Malika and her baby daddy Mitch are working with us for about 2 weeks in May. She has a couple spots still available for anyone wanting portraits or script. You can check out their work at Westside Tattoo (Brisbane) on facebook:
